We are introducing our Let’s talk about sex toolkit, because having open and honest conversations about sexuality with children and young people is crucial in enabling them to make conscious decisions, reducing their risk of STDs and sexually transgressive behaviour and in promoting happier and healthier relationships. The toolkit consists of four components. Click on each tab to learn more.
Discover our seven educational posters on sexuality, covering the topics of body development, relationships, boundaries, and safe sex. With our posters, all professionals working with children and youth can address these topics in a playful and accessible way.
Our fun energisers and ice breakers are the perfect way to start up a conversation or open up a discussion with children and youth about sex and sexuality in general or about specific topics, such as boundaries, relationships and safe sex.
Discover our wide range of group discussion games on sexuality in general and on the more specific topics of the body and body development, boundaries, relationships, gender, sexual orientation, safe sex and sex and media. By playing these games, youth workers, street workers, teachers … can address the topic of sexuality in an accessible way during their activities with children and youth and give them the tools they need to make conscious, healthy, and respectful decisions.
Enhance your knowledge on relationships and sexuality with our three self-paced training programmes on StreetSmart Learn, available in four languages. The programmes cover different topics, ranging from a general introduction to comprehensive sexuality education to more specific modules on body and boundaries, gender and sexual orientation. Each programme includes theoretical courses and good practices that can be accessed online for free.
Talking about sex with children and youth is important, but we know it’s not always easy! That is why we developed this toolkit to support you in talking about relationships and sexuality with the young people you work with, so they can be empowered to make well-informed decisions and have the tools they need to navigate a world where gender-based violence, gender inequality, early and unintended pregnancies, HIV, and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) still pose serious risks to their health and well-being. The toolkit was developed based on the feedback of our StreetSmart Wheels partners and based on the tools developed by Sensoa and Pimento.
