MobileSchool.org: education for vulnerable children and youth

MobileSchool.org is an organisation dedicated to supporting street children by building mobile schools. These unique schools consist of rolling, expandable boards that are brought directly to children in their own environment. With more than 250 educational materials, MobileSchool.org offers a wide range of topics, all based on playful methodologies. From financial literacy to creative therapy and from health education to child rights, the content is always relevant and tailored to the needs of the children.

Tomorrowland: Live, Love & Unite

Tomorrowland is one of the largest and most renowned music festivals in the world, held in Belgium. The festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world each year and is known for its magical atmosphere, impressive stages, and world-famous DJs. Besides the original festival in Belgium, there are also editions held in other countries like Brazil and the United States. Tomorrowland offers visitors a unique experience full of music, art, and culture.

The partnership with Tomorrowland Foundation

For several years now, MobileSchool.org has had a partnership with the Tomorrowland Foundation. The Tomorrowland Foundation focuses on creating a positive impact through educational and cultural initiatives and has collaborated with MobileSchool.org to develop a unique new toolkit: the Live, Love, Unite toolkit.

The Live, Love, Unite Toolkit

The Live, Love, Unite toolkit is specially designed to help children reflect on the importance of embracing their unique and authentic selves, discovering and appreciating their personal strength, and developing creativity. It promotes respect for others, diversity, and nature, and emphasizes the importance of unity and togetherness.

What’s inside the toolkit?

The toolkit consists of two beautifully illustrated posters:

  1. Tomorrowland Festival Poster: This poster showcases the beautiful setting of Tomorrowland with 12 world-class DJs spread across various stages. DJs such as NERVO, Lost Frequencies, and Armin van Buuren act as ambassadors for the values Live, Love, and Unite.
  2. Live Love Unite Game Board: This poster guides you through the methodology. Using QR codes on the poster, children can access videos where the DJs tell stories from the Tomorrowland storybook that relate to the values.
Reflection and action

Children are challenged to think about situations on the festival poster that are related to the values. After reflection, it’s time for action, with 9 other DJs - MATTN, Amber Broos, Afrojack, Netsky, Henri PRF, Andromedik, Gordo, Kölsch, and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano - challenging them with tasks they discover through videos.

Development of the toolkit

The content of the toolkit was developed by MobileSchool.org's R&D team, with support from the Tomorrowland Foundation?. The videos were filmed in a small greenscreen studio during the Tomorrowland Winter Festival in Alpe d'Huez. After the recordings, post-production began, and an illustrator worked on the posters, while psychologists and educators refined the methodologies.

Not just for street children, also for youth movements or classrooms

The Live, Love, Unite toolkit is now available and is being distributed to all MobileSchool.org partners in 38 countries. In addition, the toolkit is freely available to the general public. Youth workers, educators, and teachers can easily download and use the toolkit with young people aged 8 to 15 years. The toolkit can be played in parts or all at once, with a total playtime of 2 to 3 hours, making it ideal for youth activities.

Thanks to the Tomorrowland Foundation and DJs

We thank the Tomorrowland Foundation for the wonderful collaboration and especially the 12 DJs who contributed. Thanks to them, we can inspire and empower street children worldwide.
